THE PANELISTS
Jasmine Ahmed is currently with Pfizer Inc, the largest pharmaceutical company in the world, as their Global Compliance Officer for their Global Financial Shares Services. As the Global Compliance Lead, Jasmine has been critical in Pfizer's recent transformation efforts such as migrating of some of their largest global markets to regional shared service centers, establishing the Asia shared service center, outsourcing key business processes to a General Electric subsidiary and globalizing and re-engineering key financial processes. Jasmine works with many members of Pfizer's Executive Team to drive strategic initiatives for the company and serves as a key "change agent" as Pfizer transforms its business model in the challenging pharmaceutical industry. Prior to Pfizer, Jasmine was with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she helped lead the audit for American Insurance Group (AIG), the largest insurance company worldwide. Jasmine received her B.S. in Commerce from University of Virginia and is a CPA. She also has an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
Faisal Quader is currently a Senior Engineering Manager for GE/GXS. He manages several mission critical projects and leads a global team covering the U.S., India and Manila. Faisal was part of the management team who opened the GE Information System Development Center in Bangalore in 2000. Faisal was awarded an "Award of Excellence" from GE for managing and delivering quality products and a GE "Leadership Award of Excellence" for managing global teams across the world. Before GE, Faisal worked for Lockheed Martin Corporation as a Senior Product Engineer. Faisal also makes time for leadership roles outside his job; he is currently serving as the President-Elect for the DC chapter of the American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers & Architects (AABEA). Faisal received his B.S. with Honors (major: Computer Science, minor: Mathematics) from the University of Wisconsin, his M.S in Computer Science and Technology Management from Johns Hopkins University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science and Information Technology at the George Mason University under the School of Engineering.
Sam Quiah is an education consultant and curriculum developer with Development Without Limits, and has worked on initiatives such as the Summer Youth Employment Program, NY City Scholars, and NY Times Summer Jobs Program. Until this past June, he was the Project Director of Human Rights Activist Project with Global Kids, Inc., a project dedicated to empowering urban youth to become leaders in the realm of human rights and international affairs. Prior to working at Global Kids, Sam worked as an Immigrant Rights Organizer with the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, advocating for the rights of working class and undocumented South Asians. His previous work with youth includes working with South Asian Youth Action (SAYA!) as a program coordinator. He received his B.S. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an M.S. in Social Work, with a focus in International Social Policy, from Columbia University. While at Columbia University, Sam was a graduate policy analyst at the Youth Unit of the United Nations Division for Social Policy and Development. Sam was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and was raised in Queens, NYC. He comes from a small Bengali catholic community in Bangladesh.
Malik Rashid has spent his entire career in financial services, journeying through various sectors within the industry. He began his post-college career as an equity analyst in Tokyo for a major investment management firm. He switched to fixed income after joining the structured finance group of the rating agency Standard & Poor's. He is now a banker in the debt markets group at Merrill Lynch in New York. Malik is one of the co-founders of the Network of Young Bangladeshi American Professionals (NYBAP). His outside interests include yoga, theater, and foreign affairs. He is one of the current sponsors of the Grameen Shikkha Scholarship Programme in Bangladesh. Malik earned a B.A. in Economics with a minor in East Asian Studies from Columbia University, and an M.B.A. from Yale University. He is trilingual.
Sylvana Q. Sinha is currently an attorney at Lovells, a British law firm, in the international litigation practice in the New York office. In her three years at Lovells, Sylvana's work has focused on human rights litigation and various pro bono projects, including research for the United Nations on the topic of business and human rights and assisting asylum applicants with the asylum process. Since this winter, Sylvana has also been working for the Obama campaign, providing research and other support for the foreign policy team. Sylvana received her J.D. from Columbia Law School and a Master's in International Development from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She has participated in community development efforts in the U.S., India, and Bangladesh, including experiences at Center for International Development and the Grameen Bank. She is a member of NYBAP, the Network of Young Bangladeshi-American Professionals, and serves on the Board of Directors for Sakhi for South Asian Women, a not-for-profit that serves domestic violence victims in the New York area.

The Network of Young Bangladeshi American Professionals (NYBAP) is a national organization targeted at young professionals in the beginning and middle stages of their careers. NYBAP's founders saw the need for a network uniting young professionals from all walks of life to exchange professional experience and foster career development. Currently, NYBAP members represent a wide variety of industries including Finance, Law, Marketing, Consulting and Medicine.
